Individual Counselling
A space to better understand yourself, make sense of what's been weighing on you, and move forward with greater confidence.
What Brings People to Counselling
No two people arrive for the same reason, but many of the conversations we have start in familiar places.
Some people are navigating anxiety, stress, or burnout. Others are working through relationship challenges, life transitions, perfectionism, ADHD, self-esteem, or grief. Many simply feel stuck and aren't quite sure why.
Whatever brings you here, you don't need to have the "right" reason to ask for support.
What Our Work Together Might Look Like
The first session is less about finding answers and more about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions, you'll have the opportunity to share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and together we'll get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.
From there, our conversations become a balance of understanding and action.
Understanding means exploring the experiences, relationships, and patterns that have shaped the way you think, feel, and respond today. Action means taking what we've learned and finding practical ways to apply it in your everyday life.
I don't think either works particularly well on its own. Insight without action can leave you understanding yourself without knowing what to do next. Action without understanding often falls apart the first time life gets difficult.
My hope is that each session leaves you with both.
What you can expect from me
⁎
What you can expect from me ⁎
I see counselling as a collaborative process. You'll always have the freedom to slow down, change direction, or tell me if something doesn't feel right. While I'll encourage you to explore difficult topics when you're ready, I won't push you somewhere you don't want to go. You know your life better than anyone else, and we'll work together at a pace that feels right for you.
I'll also be honest with you. If I notice a pattern, I'll probably point it out. If I think you're being harder on yourself than the situation deserves, I'll say that too. And if I get something wrong, I hope you'll tell me.
Therapy isn't about me having all the answers, it's about us building an understanding together, and your perspective is just as important as mine.
Not every session will feel heavy. Some weeks we'll explore what's happening beneath the surface, while others might focus on practical strategies, celebrating progress, or simply making it through a difficult week.
Growth isn't always serious, and if we happen to laugh along the way, I think that's part of the process too.
